Galaxy A53 gets August 2023 security update in more countries, including the US

A few days ago, the Galaxy A53 received the August 2023 security update in Europe and the US. However, for the US market, the update was limited to the factory-unlocked models. Now, Samsung has released a new security update to the Galaxy A53 in Latin America and the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A53.

The latest update for the Galaxy A53 comes with firmware version A536EXXS7CWH2, and it is available in all Latin American countries. The carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A53 5G is getting the new security update in the US with firmware version A536USQS7CWG9. This update is currently available on Dish, Metro PCS, and T-Mobile networks in the US.

Galaxy A53 August 2023 security update: What's new?

According to Samsung, the August 2023 security patch fixes 74 security flaws found in the previous version of the software. The new update to the Galaxy A53 5G doesn't bring any new features or performance improvements.

If you have a Galaxy A53 5G and live in any of the countries or regions mentioned above, you can now check for the new software update. To do that, you have to navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
