Galaxy A33 gets August 2026 security update

The Galaxy A33 units in India are getting a new software update. It brings the August 2026 security patch, which fixes 56 security issues present in the previous firmware.

The update is 276.91MB in size and carries firmware version A336EDXSKGZH2. Considering that the brand is rolling out the update in India, we assume that it is live globally.

To check if Samsung has made the August 2026 security patch for the Galaxy A33 available in your country and for your device, as well as to get it, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A33 in 2022 with One UI 4.1 (Android 12). The brand promised to offer four major updates to the phone and has fulfilled it. With that, the device is running on One UI 8.0 (Android 16), which was its last major update.

It means that the Galaxy A33 will not get One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2) or One UI 9.0 (Android 17). Samsung also promised to offer it security updates for five years, which means that it will keep getting those till 2027. The phone is currently on a quarterly security update schedule.
