The Galaxy A22 is on a biannual security update schedule, which means that it gets two security updates every year. Samsung rolled out the first security update to the smartphone for 2024 in February, which brought the February 2024 security patch, and now, the company has released the second and the last security update to the device for this year. It brings the May 2024 security patch.
The May 2024 security patch fixes a total of 45 security vulnerabilities, and the software update that brings it to the Galaxy A22 carries firmware version A225FXXS9DXE1. As you might have figured out from the firmware version, Samsung is currently rolling out the latest security update to the variant of the smartphone that it sells in Europe, which carries the model number SM-A225F.
You might be familiar with the process of getting software updates on your Galaxy A22. However, if you aren’t, you can do so by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also get the new firmware from our database and install it using Odin. Samsung could be rolling out the latest software update in phases. So, different sets of people might get it at different times.

After releasing three new versions of Android as promised, Samsung stopped rolling out major OS upgrades to the Galaxy A22 last year. It will keep getting security updates till next year.
