A couple of months ago, it was reported that Samsung had started developing a new smartphone called the Galaxy A18, a successor to the Galaxy A17, which recently received One UI 8.5 and may soon get One UI 9.0 as well. The brand, considering that it launched the current model in August 2025 and follows a yearly refresh cycle, is expected to debut the upcoming phone in the next couple of months.

With only a short period of time remaining for the launch, it looks like the company has completed the device’s development and started testing it.

On Samsung's server, a firmware file for the Galaxy A18 has been spotted for the first time (via SammyGuru). It suggests that the brand has completed the development of the device and started testing it, or at least the firmware for the phone. It carries firmware version A185FXXU0AZF2.

Unfortunately, there have been no other leaks about Galaxy A18 so far, which means that there’s no information about its design, features, specifications, or pricing. All we can predict at the moment is that the company may ship it with One UI 9.0, as the tech giant has already debuted the new software.

Hopefully, as Samsung gets closer to launching the Galaxy A18, the brand will start get start getting the device certified, which may reveal more details about the phone. In the meantime, if you have a Samsung smartphone eligible for One UI 8.5, you may want to check our video below, where we discuss the issues with the new software.
