One of Samsung's more affordable Galaxy A-series phones is getting the latest version of One UI thanks to a new software update that is rolling outs tarting today. The One UI 8.5 update is now available to the Galaxy A16 4G just a few days after it was released for the phone's 5G variant.
The Galaxy M16, sold as the Galaxy Wide 8 in Korea, is also getting One UI 8.5. As expected, Samsung's home country gets first dibs on the update, but a wider rollout targeting more countries and regions will hopefully begin soon.
One UI 8.5 gives the Galaxy A16 a refreshed look and feel with updated visuals, improved personalization, and several quality-of-life upgrades. The update introduces new camera filters, downloadable wallpapers, additional lock screen clock customization options, and a redesigned battery menu that makes it easier to track usage and charging status.
Samsung has also enhanced core apps and services with features such as a precipitation graph in the Weather widget, weather-themed alarm backgrounds, a new time zone converter, a fully customizable Quick Panel, and support for tables in Samsung Notes.
To download the update, open the Settings > Software update menu on your Galaxy A16 or Galaxy M16 and tap the Download and install button.
