Samsung launched the Galaxy A15 5G in January 2024. Almost four months later, the company is rolling out the first major software update for the device. Yes, you’ve guessed it right. Samsung has released One UI 6.1 for the Galaxy A15 5G.
Currently, Samsung has made One UI 6.1 available for the carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy A15 5G for the United States, which carries the model number SM-A156U. The software update changes the phone’s firmware version to A156USQU1BXDA. The update also brings the April 2024 security patch, which fixes 44 security issues.
To get the One UI 6.1 on your Galaxy A15 5G, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. We expect Samsung to make the latest software available to other variants of the device and in other regions in the next few weeks/months.
One UI 6.1 brings many new features to Galaxy A15 5G. These include new options to edit images, customize the user interface, share content, protect your data, manage health, multitask, and protect the phone's battery. Unfortunately, the new software doesn’t offer Galaxy AI on the Galaxy A15 5G that it does on newer and costlier phones.
You can check out the changes One UI 6.1 offers here. You can also watch our video above to check out the best One UI 6.1 features. If you are impressed with Galaxy AI, the cheapest way to get it is to purchase the Galaxy S23 FE.
