Galaxy A13 5G One UI 6.0 (Android 14) update starts rolling out

As people around the world celebrate the holiday season, it's business as usual for Samsung. The company seems determined to release the Android 14/One UI 6 update to as many eligible devices as possible before 2023 comes to a close. Earlier today, the One UI 6 update was released to the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro, and it is now available for the Galaxy A13 5G as well.

Samsung has been particularly quick at rolling out Android 14 to budget smartphones. The Galaxy A14 5G was among the first Samsung phones to get the update, and it is now being joined by its predecessor. The LTE version of the Galaxy A13 doesn't seem to be getting the update, and judging by the time it took for the LTE Galaxy A14 to get One UI 6 after the 5G variant, A13 owners may have to wait a few weeks.

The A13 5G is getting Android 14 a couple of weeks after Samsung made the Galaxy A15 official. While there seems to be no official mention of the Android or One UI version on the Galaxy A15, it is confirmed to be running Android 14 and One UI 6 out of the box. The A15 is also eligible for four generations of OS upgrades, double that of the Galaxy A13 and the Galaxy A14.

Coming back to the A13 5G, you should be able to download One UI 6 over the air from the phone's Settings » Software update menu if the update has been released in your country. It's 1.4GB in size so a Wi-Fi connection or a mobile data plan with enough bandwidth is recommended.

In its early days making Android phones, Samsung was popular for throwing everything but the kitchen sink into its software. It was an approach that gained the company millions of fans, but it wasn't an approach appreciated by everyone. Samsung gradually dialled down the number of out-of-the-box functionality customers got when they purchased a Galaxy […]
