The first foldable iPhone may debut in the second half of 2026 (via ETNews), and Samsung Display will likely be Apple's exclusive foldable display supplier.
Samsung Display is the company that made foldable displays possible and spearheaded the concept, but other display manufacturers have since adapted to these new market opportunities. Still, Apple will reportedly choose Samsung Display.
As for the first foldable iPhone, there is a new rumor, passed along as “Exclusive information” by leaker “Digital Chat Station” on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. It claims to reveal some of the foldable iPhone's specifications.
Samsung Display may manufacture Apple's foldable screen with an unusual design. The foldable iPhone's external and internal screens have an unprecedented aspect ratio, claims the source.
In terms of size, the rumor states that Apple has settled on a foldable iPhone design with a 5.49-inch external screen and a 7.74-inch internal foldable panel.
There's also a rumor (via MacRumors) that Apple will release its first foldable iPad around the same time as the foldable iPhone.
Samsung MX has yet to release a foldable tablet. However, at Unpacked in January, the company teased a large dual-hinge / tri-folding Galaxy device alongside other upcoming products in the pipeline, such as the XR headset.
