Ferrari just announced its first fully electric production car, called Luce. Regardless of how you feel about electric sports cars and EVs in general, the Ferrari Luce is especially interesting because of the people involved in its development.
This high-tech machine bears the fingerprints of Samsung Display and ex-Apple designer Jony Ive, or more specifically, Ive’s design firm LoveFrom.
Both Samsung Display and LoveFrom were involved in developing the Luce’s interior. Ive’s firm handled the overall interior design, while Samsung Display engineers helped Ferrari develop a world-first display solution for the instrument binnacle.
The Ferrari Luce uses an instrument cluster mounted on the steering column. That’s nothing new. What stands out is that the cluster consists of two overlapping OLED displays.

Ferrari worked closely with Samsung Display engineers to create an ultra-light, ultra-thin OLED panel that supports this stacked display concept.
In a world-first, the top OLED panel features three large cutouts that reveal information from the second display beneath it. These cutouts are protected by clear glass lenses, adding a subtle sense of depth and three-dimensionality to the cluster.
It’s unclear whether Samsung Display is the main supplier for every other screen inside the Luce. Beyond the driver’s binnacle, the interior also includes a control panel and a central console.
Either way, the Ferrari Luce’s interior is undeniably interesting. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but the Luce appears to blend analog and digital, classic and modern, with real confidence.

Ferrari also seems to have returned to physical controls for key functions, which is refreshing. The Samsung OLED panels are used to enhance the interior rather than overwhelm it.
The Ferrari Luce is expected to launch by the end of 2026 and deliver over 1,000 horsepower. Official pricing hasn’t been announced, but the Luce won’t come cheap. Estimates put Ferrari’s electric supercar at around $500,000.
