Last week, we revealed that all new Samsung TVs launching this year would feature Google Cast support. Now, it appears that the South Korean firm is bringing this highly useful feature to some of its older TVs as well. It could also extend to Smart Monitors and other recently launched monitors running Tizen OS.

Samsung has recently started rolling out a major One UI Tizen update for select TVs launched in 2023. The company now seems to be extending a similar update to some 2024 models, and one of the key additions is Google Cast support. A Reddit user shared an image of their S90D OLED TV receiving the new update, which includes this feature.

With Google Cast support, users can stream images, music, and videos from Android smartphones and tablets, ChromeOS devices, and the Google Chrome browser directly to compatible Samsung TVs. Previously, casting was limited to Galaxy devices via Samsung's in-house Smart View feature. This update opens up seamless casting to all Android users.

The update also appears to introduce features like “Universal Gestures” and a more intuitive home screen design. It is expected to roll out to more 2024 TV models in the coming weeks or months, depending on the region and device.
