While Google Chrome is the preferred browser for most Android users on their smartphones and tablets, Microsoft is making an all-out effort to change that by using AI as its main tool. Microsoft's multi-billion-dollar investment in OpenAI's technology is proof of that. Now, the company is testing a new feature that will enhance Copilot's capabilities on its Edge browser for Android.

In a report by MSPowerUser, Microsoft Edge recently received a new optional update that adds new features to Copilot's existing list of features. The Microsoft Edge chatbot ‘Ask Copilot' now can search for anything about a selected image on a webpage. Moreover, the Microsoft Edge ‘Ask Copilot' can be requested to generate AI images.

Microsoft Edge Ask Copilot feature is hidden behind a flag

These new ‘AI Copilot' features will be available under the ‘Mobile Copilot Chat with Images' flag. The feature is under testing and there is a possibility that Microsoft may not release it at all. Once the flag is turned on by heading over to edge://flags and searching for Mobile Copilot, then you will see the ‘AI Copilot' or ‘Generate AI images' options on the context menu of your browser.

You can ask the chatbot anything related to an image or ask it to generate an AI version of the selected image. The feature looks fun to use and should help Microsoft lure Android users to use its Edge browser. In the past as well, users did not use the Microsoft Edge browser because of its bloatedness and Google Chrome's push to add new features now and then.
