Google has announced a bunch of cool new features and apps for Chromebooks for the upcoming school season. Apparently, these features will be available to all Chromebooks and Chrome OS devices, including the ones from Samsung. All of these new features and apps will be available on Chromebooks and Chrome OS devices in the coming months.

One of the biggest features that will be arriving is the revamped Google Photos movie editor. It will debut on Chromebooks sometime this fall. Using this Google Photos movie editor, users will be able to easily create movies with their Google Photos images and videos. Users can get granular control over the movie editor and apply video filters, title cards, and music as well if they wish to create a movie from scratch.

Chromebooks will also receive long-awaited light and dark themes

According to Android Authority, the editing feature is getting another addition as the LumaFusion video app is also coming to Chromebooks. In August, the Chromebook Gallery app will get the ability to edit PDF files. The Screencast app will also support recording and transcription, making it easier to create how-to clips or presentations. A Cursive app is also incoming for Chromebooks that will help you organize all of your handwritten notes and copy them to another app if your Chromebook comes with a touchscreen stylus.

Customization features are also expanding, as Chromebooks will receive the long-pending light and dark themes. You can apply them manually or let them apply automatically, depending on the time of the day. You can also use images from your Google Photos app as wallpapers. Virtual desks can now be saved and closed with a single tap.
