Samsung started taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 yesterday. Prices start at $1,899 and there are plenty of devices that you can trade-in when buying from Samsung online to make the price more palatable.
The company typically offers higher trade-in rates during the pre-order period so if you have an iPhone you'd like to swap for a new Galaxy Z Fold 8, these are the ones that'll put more money back in your pocket.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max fetches the highest trade-in value of $550. The iPhone 16 Pro Max nets you $490, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max gets you $340. The base iPhone 17 nets $360 while the iPhone 16 Pro and Plus are at $355 and $340.
For those who are still rocking an iPhone 16, Samsung will give you $310 when trading it in for a Galaxy Z Fold 8. It's offering good values on even older models, such as $215 for the iPhone 15, $240 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max, and even $100 for an iPhone 13 Mini.
The trade-in value is immediately taken off your device total so if you trade an iPhone 17 Pro Max, your total for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 becomes $1,349 before tax. Do note that if you don't send your trade-in device once your Galaxy Z Fold 8 arrives, Samsung may disable your new device remotely.
Bear in mind that these trade-in values are only available when you purchase the device through Samsung's online store. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be released on August 7, 2026.
