Asus was one of the early adopters of Samsung Display’s QD-OLED screens. So far, it has used them for many gaming monitors. With them getting more popular day by day, the Taiwanese brand has launched one more gaming monitor with South Korean tech giant’s display technology, the Asus ROG Strix OLED XG27UCDMG. Let’s check out its features, price, and availability details.
The XG27UCDMG uses Samsung Display’s latest, fourth generation QD-OLED panel. It measures 26.5 inches diagonally and features 4K resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response time, and 99.3% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. It supports HDR10, Dolby Vision, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and Nvidia G-Sync. It also comes with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification.
It offers HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and USB Type-C with 90W PD ports. Asus claims that the colour accuracy is Delta E<2 and is also offering a 3-year warranty on the monitor. The stand that it comes with offers height, tilt, and pivot adjustment. It also has space for docking a smartphone. As of now, Asus has made it available to purchase only in China at a price of CNY 6,499 (around $900).
If you are planning to buy a QD-OLED monitor, you should also take a look at Samsung's newly launched Odyssey OLED G6 and Odyssey OLED G8. The former offers better features than the one from Asus, while carrying a similar price tag. Plus, it is available to purchase more widely. The latter offers a larger screen size.
