Samsung's monitor lineup consists of entry-level Essential monitors, Smart Monitors, ViewFinity monitors, and Odyssey gaming monitors.

Some of the company's monitors run Tizen OS, the same operating system used on Samsung's smart TVs, and have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. They can run music and video streaming apps, have wireless screen mirroring and voice assistants, can control smart home devices, and can be controlled using the SmartThings app. They also come with a remote controller so that they can be used as a smart TV.

Essential Monitors

As the name suggests, monitors in Samsung's Essential lineup are pretty basic and can be used in homes and offices. Most of them have 22-inch or bigger-sized flat screens with Full HD resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, and a basic design. They have HDMI and D-Sub ports.

Some of the higher-priced monitors in this lineup have curved screens, QHD resolution, and a higher refresh rate (75Hz or 100Hz). Some of them have AMD FreeSync for tear-free visuals and Eco Plus mode for higher energy savings.

These monitors usually have IPS or VA panels, a Quantum Dot layer for improved colors, and higher color accuracy. Most of them have DisplayPort and HDMI ports, picture-in-picture modes, a KVM switch, and USB hubs with USB Power Delivery for charging connected phones or laptops. They come pre-installed with Samsung Gaming Hub, Samsung Health, Samsung TV Plus, SmartThings, and Microsoft 365. They also have Multi Control for use with other Samsung products.

They usually have IPS or VA panels with Full HD or 4K resolution. They have built-in speakers, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Miracast, and a webcam. When not being used as monitors, they can be used as TVs.

Smart Monitors usually don't have higher refresh rates, higher color accuracy, or USB hubs, which are usually found in ViewFinity monitors.

Odyssey Gaming Monitors

Samsung's Odyssey monitors are designed for gaming, so they all have a high refresh rate and AMD FreeSync. The company uses various display technologies in these models, such as QLED (IPS or VA), Mini LED, and QD-OLED.

Depending on the model, Odyssey gaming monitors may feature Full HD, QHD, 4K, or 5K resolution and a 16:9, 21:9, or 32:9 aspect ratio. They are available in sizes from 24 inches to 57 inches.
