India’s largest online retailers, Flipkart and Amazon, have announced year’s biggest shopping events to capitalize on the festival season. While Flipkart will run ‘The Big Billion Days Sale’ from October 10 to October 14, its chief rival Amazon India will have ‘The Great Indian Shopping Festival’ during the same period. Samsung has teamed up with both the shopping portals to offer attractive discounts on a wide range of products, including its flagship smartphones from last year.

Flipkart will sell the Galaxy S8 64 GB variant for ₹29,990 (~$400) during the 5-day sale, while Amazon will offer the Galaxy Note 8 for ₹43,990 (~$590) during the same period. Both these prices are the lowest ever for these models in India and can be brought down even further with bank offers. Buyers can also avail No Cost EMI and Exchange offers to sweeten the deal even more.

Discounts on Galaxy On series phones as well

Samsung will also offer substantial discounts on many of its other products. Flipkart will have the Galaxy On6 64 GB for ₹11,990, Galaxy Tab A T335Y for ₹11,999, Gear Fit 2 Pro for ₹8,999, and more. Amazon India, on the other hand, will sell the Galaxy A8+ for ₹23,990 and Galaxy S9 for ₹42,990. It is also offering discounts on a wide range of online-exclusive Galaxy On series phones as well.

This isn’t the first time Samsung is trying to aggressively sell its last year's flagship models at discounted prices. The company did something similar last year as well with the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. Though the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 are more than a year old, both of them are still very capable devices and will easily best many of the newer midrange models priced similarly. Buying them at these discounted prices, particularly the Galaxy S8, is definitely not a bad idea for those on a tight budget.
