Samsung's advertising budget which is part of this $10.2 billion total saw a 15 percent increase year-over-year as the company spent a lot of resources to push products like the Galaxy S7. Industry watchers feel that Samsung spent the bulk of this money on promoting its smartphones. It may have had to make additional efforts to maintain its brand reputation following the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco last year.
The company is expected to continue with its aggressive marketing strategy in 2017 as well. It has all the more reason in the world to do so given that the Galaxy S8 has turned out to be one of the best Android smartphones to come out this year. We can expect Samsung to leave no stone unturned in pushing the Galaxy S8 to potential customers far and wide.
