Samsung Galaxy S5 Active makes its way to Canada after exclusivity stint on AT&T

The extra-rugged sibling of the Galaxy S5 is finally ending its exclusivity on US carrier AT&T and making its way to Canada. Bell, Rogers and TELUS are all offering the Galaxy S5 Active to consumers, with Bell and Rogers stocking the device right now and selling it for CA$280 with a two-year contract and for CA$700 outright. TELUS will start selling the device next week, and will also be holding off on announcing details on its pricing, though it should be priced at around the same as it is on the other two carriers.

As we exclusively confirmed recently, the Galaxy S5 Active will also be making its way to select European countries later this year; the device will be launched in silver and green colors with a suggested retail price of €629, though we're still waiting for details on exactly when it will go on sale outside the US and Canada. As a reminder, The Galaxy S5 Active sports mostly the same hardware as the Galaxy S5, but also features a dedicated key for accessing the Activity Zone, which offers features like a compass, barometer, stopwatch and flash light, and for use as a camera shutter button. It's also IP67-certified for water and dust resistance, and carries US Mil-STD 810G specification for protection against shock, temperature, humidity, and rain.
