Samsung’s Dropship app can transfer files from Galaxy phone to any device (even iPhones)

Samsung continues to release useful apps and services for its smartphones and tablets. As a part of its Good Lock ecosystem of customization apps, the company has now released a new appDropship—for transferring files from one device to another. It works with other Android phones and even iPhones.

The South Korean firm announced the launch of the Dropship module for Good Lock in South Korea. It allows easy and quick file sharing between Galaxy phones and tablets, other Android phones and tablets, iPhones, iPads, and even the web. It uses the internet connection to transfer files across devices, so it's not as fast as Nearby Share or Quick Share, which use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for file transfers.

Once you install the app, it lets you select the files you want to share, and then it creates a link and a QR code. You can even set a validity period for the availability of those files. Some of the limitations of this app include limited availability (only for South Korea as of now) and a limit of 5GB of file transfers per day. You also need a Samsung account to send files, but the file receiver doesn't need a Samsung account.

Another limitation seems to be the requirement of Android 13 (One UI 5.0) to use the app. Plus, Good Lock is unavailable in many countries and for lower-end phones. While the app seems helpful, there are a lot of limitations. Have you used this app yet? Let us know your experience in the comments section.
