TL;DR

  • A new rumor says the Galaxy S27 Ultra may use only Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon chip, not Exynos 2700 in any region.
  • Samsung is reportedly preparing four Galaxy S27 models, with Exynos 2700 expected for the non-Ultra versions.
  • The claim is based on good Exynos 2700 yields and reports that no allocation has been made for the Ultra yet.

It has been rumored for a while now that Samsung might use the Exynos 2700 for the Galaxy S27 Ultra in some regions, while others would have the latest Snapdragon chipset.

A new rumor claims that this will not be the case, and that the Galaxy S27 Ultra will exclusively use Qualcomm's new flagship processor.

Samsung will launch four Galaxy S27 models next year

It was reported last week that the Exynos 2700 has entered mass production, with production volume being 10% more compared to the Exynos 2600. Samsung is expected to use the Exynos chip exclusively in the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, and Galaxy S27 Pro models.

Rumors were split on whether the Galaxy S27 Ultra will also get the Exynos in some markets and the Snapdragon in others.

A latest rumor out of South Korea claims that yields of the Exynos 2700 are good, meaning that Samsung should have no problem in utilizing the chipset in the relevant Galaxy S27 models. It's further claimed that no allocation has been made for the Galaxy S27 Ultra, which suggests that it may exclusively use the latest Snapdragon chipset.

It's still too early to be certain about where Samsung will land for next year's flagship model. We may see conflicting rumors and reports about this for a while before clarity emerges.
