Google recently announced a new operating system for laptops, Googlebook OS. While five laptop makers have already adopted the platform, Samsung was notably absent from the initial list despite being a close Google partner. However, the South Korean firm's first Googlebook OS laptop may have just made its first appearance.
A new Samsung device bearing the model number XE940XSA and running Android 17 has appeared in the Geekbench database. The device uses the Snapdragon X Elite chip (codenamed Hamoa) with a 12-core CPU and an Adreno X1-85 GPU. It also features 16GB of RAM.
Based on its model number, the device is a laptop. Because it is not running ChromeOS or Windows, it appears to be utilizing Googlebook OS, which is built on the Android 17 codebase. It scored 2,513 points in the single-core CPU benchmark and 15,214 points in the multi-core test.

Possible Samsung Galaxy Book laptop with Googlebook OS and Snapdragon X Elite chip spotted in Geekbench database
We exclusively reported a few months ago that Samsung is working on Galaxy Book laptops featuring Android-based One UI software, and this newly discovered device seems to be one of those models. It would be an excellent addition if the final product features a high-refresh-rate OLED screen.
It remains to be seen when this Googlebook OS-based laptop from Samsung will officially launch.
