Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra camera in everyday life: How to get the most out of it

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra's 200MP camera is only part of its photography appeal. The folding design lets you prop it up for a group shot, frame rear-camera selfies on the cover screen, and unfold it to review and edit your photos.

The 200MP wide camera is the starting point for everyday subjects such as people, food and buildings. Its high-resolution mode can give you more flexibility to crop an image later.

Switch to the 50MP ultra-wide to fit a landscape, an interior or a group into the frame. It also supports macro photography for close-up details. The 10MP telephoto provides 3x optical zoom for portraits and subjects you can't easily move closer to.

Nightography^[1] processing is designed to help with low-light photos and videos.

With Flex Mode, you can partially fold the Fold8 Ultra and place it on a stable surface to join a group shot or record yourself without someone else holding the phone.

Dual Preview lets your subject check the composition on the cover screen while you use the camera interface on the main display. For selfies, you can use the cover screen as your own viewfinder and shoot with the rear cameras.

The Fold8 Ultra supports recording at up to 8K resolution. It also supports Samsung's APV codec, designed to preserve image quality through repeated editing. You don't need these options for every quick clip, but they give you more flexibility for later editing.

For handheld recording, Super Steady^[2] includes Horizontal Lock to help keep the frame level as the phone tilts.

Once you've taken the shot, unfolding the phone gives you more space to check focus, framing and small details. Photo Assist^[3] adds editing tools for moving, resizing or removing objects, filling backgrounds and describing changes with written prompts. You can compare the original and edited versions side by side on the main screen.
