Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition now open for US students

Samsung's 17th annual Solve for Tomorrow competition is now open to students in the United States. The company has designed this educational initiative for US public middle and high school students in grades 6-12.

The competition encourages them to use science, technology, engineering, and math to address real-world challenges.

The application process runs through educators who can apply on behalf of their classrooms. They'll have to answer five main questions about the community challenge their students are interested in addressing, the proposed solution, and its potential impact on their communities. All applications are due by November 23, 2026.

This is also the first time that Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is being powered by MIT Solve. It provides the signature methodology and a research-backed platform that will give students' solutions an additional perspective as they progress through the competition.

One national winner will be recognized in this year's competition who will receive up to $50,000 in Samsung technology and resources. This will including funding for their school through the education non-profit DonorsChoose, in addition to the Community Choice, Employee Choice, and the new AI Impact Award.

The AI Impact Award will recognize innovative projects developed by students in grades 6-12, who demostrate a thorough understanding of real-world problems, thoughtful use of AI, as well as a commitment to ethical innovation.
