Samsung launches Galaxy A08 4G in Malaysia

The phone has a 6.7-inch 90Hz display, Helio G99 chip, 50MP rear camera, and ships with One UI 9.0, six OS upgrades, and six years of security updates.

A few days ago, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A08 4G, the brand’s newest most affordable smartphone and the successor to the Galaxy A07 4G. Initially, the company made it available in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Now, the tech giant has launched the device in one more market, Malaysia.

Samsung is offering the Galaxy A08 in Malaysia in a single configuration, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. The brand has priced it at RM 899 (approximately USD 220). It has made the phone available in three colors, Dark Blue, Green, and Silver.

The Galaxy A08 4G brings two upgrade over the Galaxy A07 4G. First, it packs a larger battery. The new phone features a 6,000mAh battery as opposed to the 5,000mAh unit in the previous model. Second, it has better durability. While the last year’s model had an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, the new one has IP64 rating.

The Galaxy A08 4G features a 6.7-inch display with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, a 50MP camera at the rear, and an 8MP camera at the front. The phone features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a USB Type-C port, dual-SIM 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.3, and GPS.

Samsung ships it with One UI 9.0 (Android 17) and has promised to offer it six major OS upgrades and six year of security updates.
