Samsung's Galaxy A18 budget phone debuts in Europe for €279

Samsung has launched the budget Galaxy A18 in Europe, with France getting the first availability and other countries expected to follow.

The phone includes a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, Exynos 1610 chip, 5,000mAh battery, 50MP main camera, and 4G connectivity.

In France, the Galaxy A18 costs €279 for the 128GB/4GB model and comes in Black, Gray, and Light Blue, with six OS upgrades and six years of security patches.

This time of year is mostly about premium device launches. The past couple of weeks have been quite entertaining, to say the least, following the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and its new competitor from Apple.

However, Samsung's phone portfolio spans different price points, and the company hasn't neglected the other end of the price spectrum. It has just launched the budget Galaxy A18 in Europe.

Galaxy A18 goes on sale

The Galaxy A18 is now available in France, at the very least. Other European countries should follow soon, but in France, the Galaxy A18 is available with 128GB of storage and 4GB of RAM.

Samsung didn't go too in-depth with the phone's presentation earlier today, but the specs revealed include the following:

Display: 6.7-inch Super AMOLED, up to 90Hz refresh rate.

Build: IP64 dust and water resistance.

Camera: 50MP main + 13MP selfie.

SoC: Exynos 1610.

Battery: 5,000mAh, 25W charging.

OS: Android 17 and One UI 9.0.

Support: Six OS updates and six years of security patches.

Connectivity: 4G.

The Galaxy A18 doesn't have any advanced Galaxy AI features, but Samsung did mention Gemini and Circle to Search integration.

Buyers in France can grab the Galaxy A18 in one of three color options: Black, Gray, and Light Blue. The phone starts at €279 and looks the part. It has an Infinity-U notch for the selfie camera and a thick lower bezel, both of which give away the phone's lower position in the market.
