Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro: Everything you need to know

The Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are Samsung's high-end wireless earbuds for 2026. They were launched alongside the Galaxy S26 series and are the company's first wireless earbuds to feature Bluetooth 6.1 connectivity.

They also offer improved Adaptive ANC, better overall audio quality, and enhanced ergonomics.

Just like their predecessors, these earbuds feature a stem design, but the stem has been flattened on the outside for a more sophisticated look. While they lack the Blade Lights feature of the Galaxy Buds 3 series, they come with a smaller, rounded-square case that sits horizontally. This charging case closely matches the design language of the Galaxy Buds 2 series.

Additionally, both the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are easier to place in their charging case compared to the Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro.

They feature an IP57 rating for dust and water resistance, similar to the previous generation. The charging case itself doesn't have an IP rating, but it does include a USB Type-C port and supports Qi wireless charging.

The Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro feature Bluetooth 6.1 connectivity with support for SSC-UHQ (24-bit/96kHz), SSC, LC3 (LE Audio), AAC, and SBC audio codecs. The SSC-UHQ codec is similar to aptX Adaptive in terms of its audio data transmission rate, allowing the earbuds to deliver high-bitrate audio.

The standard Galaxy Buds 4 use a single dynamic driver in each earbud and feature an in-ear design without silicone ear tips. The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro feature an enhanced dynamic driver and planar tweeter setup in each earbud, complete with an in-canal design and silicone ear tips. As a result, the Pro model offers better sound isolation and superior audio quality.

Both models are equipped with six microphones and a Voice Pickup Unit (VPU) for clear calls and video recording.

They also feature Super Clear Call, which uses a combination of hardware and AI-driven software to isolate voices and eliminate loud background noise. This feature leverages Deep Neural Network (DNN) AI algorithms, Super Wideband (SWB) Audio for 16kHz bandwidth, and the VPU, which detects physical jaw vibrations.

Both models offer 360 Audio, Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Adaptive EQ, Adaptive Noise Control, Auracast, and Voice Control. 360 Audio simulates spatial sound based on the user's head direction, while Adaptive EQ automatically adjusts the audio equalizer to suit the content being played.

With Auracast, multiple compatible wireless earbuds can join the same audio broadcast. For example, two or more pairs of Galaxy Buds 4 can connect simultaneously to a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone or TV.

Voice Control lets users issue hands-free commands to control music playback, calls, or volume. Supported commands include:

These earbuds can also be controlled using swipe gestures. A Head Gestures feature allows users to confirm or reject specific actions—like answering a call or replying to a message—using physical head tracking.

Furthermore, they support Bixby and Gemini, enabling users to fetch internet information or control other devices seamlessly. Users can select their preferred AI assistant, customize controls, check battery levels, or adjust the equalizer via the Galaxy Wearable app or the Settings app on newer Galaxy phones and tablets.

The Galaxy Buds 4 can last up to 6 hours (up to 30 hours with the case) with ANC turned off and up to 5 hours (up to 24 hours with the case) with ANC turned on.

The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro last up to 7 hours (up to 30 hours with the case) when ANC is turned off and up to 6 hours (up to 26 hours with the case) when ANC is turned on.

The charging case of both the Galaxy Buds 4 series earbuds support charging via the USB Type-C port or Qi-compatible wireless chargers.

The Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are available in Black and White. They were announced on February 25, 2026, and went on sale in select markets on March 11, 2026.
