TL;DR

  • Samsung has begun rolling out the August 2026 security update for the Galaxy S24 FE, after updating the other Galaxy S24 models yesterday.
  • The update appears to be starting in South Korea with firmware S721NKSSEDZH3 and should reach more countries in the coming days.

Yesterday, Samsung released software updates for the three core devices in the Galaxy S24 series, the regular, plus, and Ultra models. They brought the August 2026 security patch. Now, the brand has started rolling out the latest security update to the only remaining device in the lineup, the Galaxy S24 FE.

Samsung seems to have released the update first in its home country, South Korea. It has firmware version S721NKSSEDZH3. We expect the company to release it in other countries around the globe over the next few days. You can check its availability and get it by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.

The August 2026 security patch fixes 56 security issues, making the phone more secure than before. The phone is also eligible to get Samsung’s latest custom Android interface, One UI 9.0. Based on Android 17, it offers a plethora of upgrades.

Samsung was supposed to start rolling out One UI 9.0 soon after launching its latest foldable phones. However, it has been more than a month since it launched the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and the Galaxy Z Flip 8, but there’s still no sign of its arrival.
