TL;DR

  • Samsung has started rolling out the August 2026 security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
  • The update was first released in South Korea and uses firmware version F956NKSS4DZH5.
  • It should expand to other regions over the next few days, and users can check for it in Software update settings.

Samsung usually releases new security patches for the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip smartphones of the same generation at the same time. However, that wasn’t the case with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 for the August 2026 security patch

Yesterday, the brand released the latest security update for the Galaxy Z Flip 6, but left out the Galaxy Z Fold 6. That’s changing today. The company has now released the August 2026 security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 as well.

Samsung seems to have released the update first in its home country, South Korea, as it does with most software updates for most phones. It carries firmware version F956NKSS4DZH5.

Going by the brand’s smartphone software update rollout history, it should release the latest Galaxy Z Fold 6 update in other regions over the next few days. You can check its availability as well as download and install it, by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.
