Yesterday, we exclusively revealed more images of Samsung's upcoming clip-on Galaxy Buds. However, they are not the only wireless earbuds the South Korean firm is working on. We have found that Samsung is also developing Galaxy Buds with an ear hook design.
We found references to another pair of Galaxy Buds that Samsung is developing behind the scenes. Internally called “Buds Canal 5,” they could launch under a completely different name. Based on the images we discovered, the earbuds have an ear hook design similar to that of many workout- and running-focused wireless earbuds on the market.

These earbuds appear to have flat ear hooks and an ear tip that sits in the ear canal. However, it is unclear whether they use a traditional in-ear tip for stronger passive noise isolation or a half in-ear design. A traditional in-ear tip would provide better passive noise isolation, while a half in-ear design could offer a more open and comfortable fit.

Like most ear hook-style wireless earbuds, Samsung could offer a charging case with a USB Type-C port. We can also expect the earbuds to feature some level of dust and water resistance, and they could support active noise cancellation.
