Samsung has released an update for the Samsung Wallet app for Galaxy smartphones. It carries version 6.6.97 and brings a new user interface design, as well as three new features (via Tarun Vats). As for the former, it has the same design language as One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2), making the app look consistent with the new software.
Coming to the new features, the first one is the option to change countries, which will be very useful for frequent travelers, allowing them to access region-specific payment options. The second and third features are India-specific: Support for biometric authentication for UPI transactions of up to INR 5,000 and the UPI Payment Interface API 2.0.

The brand seems to be rolling out the update to all the phones running on One UI 8.5 and One UI 9.0 (Android 17) globally, in phases. It means that some people may get the update now, and others may get it over the next few days.
To get the latest update, go to the Galaxy Store, tap on the icon with three horizontal lines in the top-left corner of the display, select Updates, and tap on the update icon or the Update all button in the top-right corner of the screen.
