The Galaxy Watch 9 has been unveiled today alongside a handful of new products at Samsung's Unpacked event in London.
To no one's surprise, the Galaxy Watch 9 price is a bit higher than the model it's replacing. The smartwatch now starts at $379 for the 40mm Bluetooth variant. Last year's comparable model was priced at $349. The LTE variant of the Galaxy Watch 9 costs $429.
Customers in the United States will be able to buy the 45mm Bluetooth Galaxy Watch 9 for $429, this is now $30 more than the previous model. The latest 45mm's LTE model is priced at $459.
Pricing in Europe has been increased as well. The 40mm Galaxy Watch 9 Bluetooth and LTE models cost €409 and €459 while the 45mm models cost €439 and €489 respectively. Additional bands are also available for purchase. The silicone Sport Band, softer Misty Band and the Fabric Band all cost €49.90 each.
The Galaxy Watch 9 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear Elite platform. There's a 1.34-inch and 1.47-inch display on the 40mm and 45mm models with a peak brightness of 3,000nits.
The battery capacity has been increased from last year, with the 40mm going from 325mAh on the Galaxy Watch 8 to 390mAh on the Galaxy Watch 9, and the 45mm being upgraded from 435mAh to 445mAh. They may appear to be marginal improvements but the new chipset along with One UI 9 Watch should deliver meaningful longevity.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy Watch 9 are open today with the smartwatch set for release on August 7, 2026.
