Samsung has started rolling out a new software update to the Galaxy XCover 7 globally. It carries firmware version G556BXXSHEZG2 and brings the July 2026 security patch (via Mohammed Khatri), which packs fixes for 57 security issues present in the previous firmware.
When the brand makes the July 2026 security patch for the Galaxy XCover 7 available in your country, your phone will prompt you to install it. If it hasn’t already done that, you can check for its availability manually by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.
Samsung launched the Galaxy XCover 7 in 2024 with One UI 6 (Android 14) and promised to offer it four major OS upgrades. So far, the brand has offered two, and the device is now running on One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2).
It means that the phone is eligible to get Samsung’s next Android skin, One UI 9.0 (Android 17). It packs additional user interface customization options as well as many new features, which you can check out in our video below.
