Samsung will unveil its next-generation foldable phones at a Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22. Just one week before that announcement, the specifications of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra have leaked. Based on that information, both phones offer faster performance, better screens, larger batteries, and faster charging.

Earlier this week, their images were leaked as well. Let us take a look at their detailed specifications below.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 specifications

According to WinFuture, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 has a wider form factor than previous Galaxy Z Fold phones. It reportedly features a 7.6-inch foldable display with a resolution of 2,448 x 1,848 pixels and a 4:3 aspect ratio. Its 5.5-inch cover display has a resolution of 1,248 x 1,972 pixels. Both screens use Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with refresh rates of up to 120Hz.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is said to feature a 50MP primary camera with an F1.8 aperture and a 50MP ultrawide camera with an F1.9 aperture. It also has two 10MP selfie cameras, one for each screen, with F2.2 apertures.

It reportedly uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. The phone will also be available with 512GB and 1TB of storage. The 1TB version has 16GB of RAM.

Other features include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The phone is powered by a 4,800mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging.

It measures 161.4 x 123.9 x 4.5mm and weighs 201g, and it retails an IP48 rating. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is said to be available in four colors: Graphite, Cream, Lavender, and Pistachio.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra specifications

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will be Samsung's flagship foldable phone for 2026. It reportedly features a 6.5-inch cover display with a resolution of 2,520 x 1,080 pixels and an 8-inch inner foldable display with a resolution of 2,504 x 2,256 pixels. Both screens use Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with refresh rates of up to 120Hz.

The phone has a taller and narrower form factor, similar to previous-generation Galaxy Z Fold series phones. It has an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance.

The phone uses a better camera setup than the Galaxy Z Fold 8. It has a 200MP primary rear camera with OIS and an F1.7 aperture. Its ultrawide camera uses a 50MP sensor with an F1.9 aperture, while its telephoto camera uses a 10MP sensor with 3x optical zoom and OIS. It also has two 10MP front-facing cameras with F2.2 apertures.

It uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip. It will reportedly be available in three memory configurations: 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage, 12GB of RAM with 512GB of storage, and 16GB of RAM with 1TB of storage. It uses LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is reportedly powered by a 5,000mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging. Wireless charging is also supported, but the report does not reveal its speed. Previous rumors claimed that both Galaxy Z Fold 8 series phones would support 20W fast wireless charging.

Samsung has also equipped the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra with 5G, GPS, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.

It will be offered in Cream, Graphite, Green Shadow, and Violet Shadow. The device is reportedly just 4.1mm thick when unfolded and weighs 218g.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra pricing in Europe

In Europe, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will reportedly start at €1,999, while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is said to cost €2,199. Apparently, their pre-orders will not have the free storage upgrade perk anymore, and you might have to pay 50% of the price difference between 256GB and 512GB variants.

A previous report claimed that both phones will reach stores on August 5, 2026.
