The Galaxy S26 series has been selling exceptionally well. It has become Samsung’s fastest-selling smartphone lineup in South Korea. Now, Samsung has reportedly increased production of the Galaxy S26 series due to stronger-than-expected sales.
A report from ETNews claims that Samsung has increased its Galaxy S26 series production target for July to 1.5 million units after demand surpassed the company’s initial expectations. Samsung’s original production target for the month was 1 million units. Stronger sales have reportedly been driven by aggressive promotions and concerns that ongoing memory chip shortages could lead to future price hikes.
In South Korea, Samsung held a sales event called the ‘Samsung Electronics Appreciation Festival With The People,’ during which it offered a 20% refund in the form of Digital Onnuri Gift Certificates. As a result, Galaxy S26 series sales reportedly increased threefold through retailers such as 11th Street and Coupang.
On Samsung’s own online store, delivery estimates for Galaxy S26 phones have slipped to August due to strong demand. Samsung could readjust its production target for August after reviewing this month’s sales figures.
The company is also preparing to unveil its next-generation foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Flip 8, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, later this month. Those devices could go on pre-order shortly after their announcement.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be Samsung’s first widescreen book-style foldable phone, while the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could be the final model in the Galaxy Z Flip lineup. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra are expected to use Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 series processors and compete with Apple’s first-generation iPhone Ultra later this year.
