Earlier this year, Samsung Display showcased a new foldable OLED panel featuring its Advanced Crease-Less technology. It was widely expected that this panel would be used in the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Now, a reliable leakster claims that the crease on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series will be among the least visible in the industry.
Ice Universe says Samsung is using a significantly redesigned hinge in the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. According to the leak, the new hinge has a more decisive opening and closing action, which means the phone may not stay open at certain intermediate angles, a capability found in previous Galaxy Z series phones. Instead, it tends to snap fully open or shut, similar to foldable phones from some competing brands.

While Samsung’s previous hinge design allowed the phone to remain open at virtually any angle, it also made the display crease more noticeable. Combined with the new hinge and OLED panel, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra are reportedly expected to have foldable displays with crease visibility that rivals the best in the industry.
The OPPO Find N6 is currently believed to have one of the least visible creases among foldable phones, and Ice Universe claims Samsung’s upcoming foldables match it in this regard.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 features a shorter and wider 7.6-inch foldable display. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, on the other hand, has a taller and narrower foldable display measuring around 8 inches diagonally.
Both phones are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is rumored to feature a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary camera and a 50MP ultrawide camera. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to feature a triple rear camera system with a 200MP primary camera with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to feature a 4,800mAh battery, while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is rumored to have a 5,000mAh battery. Both phones are expected to support 45W fast wired charging.
