The Samsung Browser for Windows was first released in beta a few months ago. Samsung later wrapped up the beta and released the stable version of the browser worldwide.
The company has now rolled out a new update for its PC browser, and it brings with it the ability to install websites as apps.
Samsung Browser for Windows version 30.0.1.40 is now available for download. In addition to enabling you to install websites as apps, it also brings fixes for several security vulnerabilities. The change log doesn't mention any other changes. Samsung's PC browser is compatible with any computer running Windows 10 (version 1809 or later) or Windows 11.
It's a great option for those who use a Samsung mobile device, as it provides cross-device continuity between PCs, smartphones, and tablets. Samsung has also built some agentic AI capabilities in the browser, in addition to support for syncing bookmarks and browsing history.
You don't get much in the way of extended functionality when installing a website as an app in the browser. Think of it as a more capable version of a standard bookmark, but beyond that, there's little additional value to be extracted from this feature.
Nevertheless, it's great to see that Samsung continues to make feature additions to its browser. Hopefully the company will bring more significant feature upgrades to the browser in the near future.
