Samsung has been on a streak of launching devices with new form factors. After unveiling the Galaxy Z TriFold and the Galaxy XR last year, the company is now preparing to launch its first AI-powered smart glasses, and new information about the launch date has surfaced.

Galaxy Glasses launch date

According to a report from SEDaily, Samsung will announce the Galaxy Glasses during the next Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event. The event is reportedly scheduled to take place on July 22 in London.

The South Korean firm is also expected to unveil three foldable smartphones during the event: the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide. The South Korean company could also launch the Galaxy Watch 9 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.

Rumored features and specs of Galaxy Glasses

Google and Samsung have already hinted that the Galaxy Glasses will run Android XR. The wearable device is reportedly equipped with a 12MP camera, speakers, and microphones. However, they won't have a built-in display, with all processing handled by a connected phone.

Meta is currently the leader in the AI glasses market. Samsung is expected to compete with Meta with Galaxy Glasses this year, while Apple is rumored to launch its own AI glasses sometime next year. So, the market could become significantly more competitive in 2027.
