Samsung accidentally confirms upcoming Galaxy Glasses

Samsung announced last year that it had partnered with fashion eyewear brands for its AI-powered smart glasses. However, the company never revealed the name of those glasses. Now, it may have accidentally confirmed them through an app update.

The Nearby Device Scanning app, which is part of One UI on Galaxy phones and tablets, has received a new update with version 11.1.23.4. The changelog associated with the update mentions support for Glasses. Those upcoming smart glasses will reportedly support Quick Pair and offer a way to display battery charge levels, similar to Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watches.

The possible design of Samsung’s Galaxy Glasses was recently leaked. They look similar to Ray-Ban’s popular Wayfarer sunglasses and could feature photochromic lenses. They are said to have a 12MP front-facing camera on one side and an LED indicator on the other. Reports also claim they feature onboard microphones, speakers, and a touch-sensitive control surface.

They most likely lack an onboard display. The Galaxy Glasses will likely run Android XR and have Gemini onboard. They could capture photos, record videos, and play music through their built-in speakers. Users may also be able to summon Gemini for answers and quick actions.

Galaxy Glasses could be unveiled during the second Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event in July.
