A couple of hours ago, Samsung opened the much-awaited One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2) beta program for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Initially, the brand made it available in its home country, South Korea. Now, the company is expanding it to more regions around the world.
The One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is now live in India. The first beta version of the new software for the former carries firmware version F956BXXU3ZZCD. Whereas, that for the latter carries firmware version F741BXXU3ZZCD (via Tarun Vats).
One UI 8.5 brings a user interface that looks cleaner and more modern, and is more customisable as well. It also offers many new features. In our video below, we have demonstrated all the major upgrades it offers. Samsung should release the latest beta in other countries, including the US, soon.
To get it, open the Samsung Members app, search for the banner for the One UI 8.5 beta program for your device, tap on it, and register your device for it. Now, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install, where you should see the update. Tap on Install now to get it.
However, note that this is the beta version of the new software, and it can have issues hindering the standard functionality. If you want the new software but don’t want to be troubled by the issues the beta version may have, you will have to wait for the stable build, which may arrive in a couple of months.
