Earlier this year, Samsung unveiled the EM13DX, a 13-inch color e-paper display for businesses, such as those related to the hospitality, restaurant, and retail sectors. Back then, the brand had launched it in France. Now, the company has made it available in the US.
Since the EM13DX is a commercial product, Samsung hasn’t announced its pricing and availability details. We also searched the tech giant’s website for commercial products for the US for the new color e-paper display, but couldn’t find anything about it on the platform.
As we reported earlier, the Samsung EM13DX is the world’s first digital display made with a bio-resin housing, which is derived from phytoplankton. It also uses 45% recycled plastic. Samsung is shipping it in a box made out of 100% paper. With that, it is very eco-friendly.
As with every e-paper display, the Samsung EM13DX can display content without consuming energy. This makes it ideal for scenarios where a display capable of showing content for a long period of time without a power source is required. Users will need to power it up only when they want to update the content it is showing.
Samsung’s Head of Product, Display Solutions, Jonathan del Rosario, said, “Modern businesses need signage that keeps pace with rapidly changing operations. With the new 13-inch addition to our Color E-Paper lineup, Samsung is delivering a compact, ultra-low power display that’s easy to install in high-visibility areas. Organizations can keep customers and employees updated with the latest information without the added cost and effort of constantly reprinting materials.”
