The slimmest Galaxy A5x ever made.

Samsung went on a quest last year to create the thinnest slab-type Galaxy phone it had ever made. It succeeded, and that’s how the 5.8mm Galaxy S25 Edge came to be.
However, that philosophy to make thinner phones hasn't gone away. It permeates the company's product portfolio even in 2026, and now, Samsung is applying the same strategy to its latest mid-range phones.
As a result, the brand-new Galaxy A57 isn't the thinnest phone in the world but stands as the thinnest and nearly the lightest A5x model Samsung has released to date.
Despite retaining the 6.7-inch display size of last year’s model, the Galaxy A57 is more compact than its predecessor in every way. It’s shorter, narrower, thinner, and features noticeably slimmer screen bezels.
For reference, here is how the Galaxy A56 and the new Galaxy A57 compare in terms of dimensions, weight, bezels, and IP rating:

The Galaxy A57 retains the same Glass Victus+ protection as the A56 for both the front and rear panels. It also keeps a metal frame, so on paper, the core build materials haven’t changed.
What has changed is the execution. Thanks to Samsung’s latest design and manufacturing refinements, the A57 manages to shave off weight and thickness while also reducing bezel size to a more uniform look.

It even gains a slight edge in durability on paper with the jump from IP67 to IP68 water and dust resistance.
And yes, it’s worth stressing again: this is the slimmest A5x phone Samsung has made in years.
Whether these design gains come at the expense of durability or repairability remains an open question. Those answers will likely come once drop tests and teardown videos start circulating after release. We’ll be keeping an eye out, so stay tuned.
If you're tempted to order the Galaxy A57, it's scheduled to go on sale in select markets starting April 10. In Europe, pricing begins at €529 for the 8GB+128GB variant, with beefier memory configurations costing more.
