Third time's the charm?

Drawing Assist has been one of the more entertaining Galaxy AI features, and it keeps evolving. With the launch of the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung is giving the generative drawing tool another overhaul, starting with a new name. It is now called Creative Studio.
The rebrand comes with upgraded tools, new quality-of-life improvements, additional art styles, and a redesigned user interface.
Originally introduced in 2024 as Sketch to Image on the Galaxy S24, the tool was later renamed Drawing Assist. Now, it is entering its third phase with Creative Studio.
The first thing you notice when opening Creative Studio on the Galaxy S26 is the redesigned UI. Instead of an empty canvas, you are greeted with presets and past projects.
Creative Studio can now generate stickers, wallpapers, greeting cards, profile cards, and invitations.
Wallpapers now support additional aspect ratios and fill the entire screen. You can also set AI-generated wallpapers directly from within the app.
The update adds new art styles, including Childhood Sketch. And creating AI images with a mix of hand-drawn sketches, existing photos, and text prompts is also more streamlined.
Owing to Samsung's streamlining efforts, Creative Studio can also be accessed directly from Samsung Notes by tapping the generative AI button when editing a note. Users can then create a sticker, an invitation, or a greeting card and have it embedded in the note.
Creative Studio ships with One UI 8.5. However, there is no guarantee that every device eligible for One UI 8.5 will receive it.
For example, when One UI 8.0 rolled out to the Galaxy S22 series, it did not include Drawing Assist. Those devices retained the original Sketch to Image tool.
For now, it remains unclear which Galaxy phones and tablets will get Creative Studio as part of the One UI 8.5 update. But if you want to experience this upgraded Galaxy AI tool sooner rather than later, the Galaxy S26 is your best bet. Samsung's new flagship trio is now available for pre-order.
