Samsung has introduced two groundbreaking display innovations to its phones over the past few years. The Galaxy S24 Ultra debuted an anti-reflective screen, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra refined it further. With the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Samsung has introduced the Privacy Display feature to enhance on-screen privacy. But has this change affected its anti-reflective performance?
Some users have claimed that despite using the same Gorilla Glass Armor 2 panel with DX anti-reflective coating as the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s screen appears more reflective. So, is that true?
According to Samsung’s internal documents we have come across, the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s display structure was modified to implement the Privacy Display feature. As a result, there is a difference in the anti-reflective coating’s performance when the display is turned off compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra. If you notice a slight downgrade in anti-reflectivity with the screen off, it is not a defect. It is a result of the updated display design.
However, there should be no noticeable difference in anti-reflective performance between the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the Galaxy S25 Ultra when the screen is turned on.
