Apple makes it easier to transfer data from iPhones to Galaxy phones

Over the past couple of years, Apple and Google have worked together to make transferring data between iOS and Android easier. However, things still weren't as smooth as they should be. With a new iOS update, Apple has finally made it simpler to transfer data from iPhones to Android phones such as Samsung’s Galaxy devices.

Apple has now released the iOS 26.3 update for iPhones. It introduces the Transfer to Android option in the Settings app to initiate data transfer from iPhones to Android devices. Once you start the process, you can transfer apps, Live Photos, messages, notes, passwords, phone numbers, and photos. However, it does not support transferring paired Bluetooth devices, health data, or protected items.

To begin the transfer, you need to place the two devices (Android and iPhone) side by side, scan a QR code, and then enter the displayed session credentials. Previously, transferring data from an iPhone to an Android device required one of the devices to be in setup mode. Now, neither phone needs to be in the setup mode.

If you are moving from an iPhone to an Android phone, such as a Galaxy device, the process is now much easier than before. Apple is also working on a feature that will allow non-Apple smartwatches to display notifications.
