When you think of Samsung's best-selling phones, its high-end flagships and foldable may come to mind. While those devices are certainly up there, the one that actually sells the most in terms of units shipped is an entry-level device.
The Galaxy A1x devices have consistently remained Samsung's best-selling phones every year, and the Galaxy A16 unsurprisingly took the crown last year. T-Mobile is now offering it for free to customers in the United States.
A recent report of the global best-selling phones in 2025 had iPhones in the top four spots. Samsung's first entry on the list was the Galaxy A16 in fifth position followed by the Galaxy A06 in sixth.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra was the only flagship and that too down in ninth position. It's unsurprising, there are a lot more buyers for a $199 phone than there are for a flagship that costs north of $1,000.
T-Mobile is now offering the Galaxy A16 5G for free to customers in the United States. They can get the device for no charge as long as they activate a new line on most plans. The device has to be purchased on a monthly payment plan, and customers are required to pay the sales tax and a $35 device connection charge.
New T-Mobile subscribers must sign up for an Experience Beyond or More, or an Essentials plan with at least one new line. They can also get it if they add 3+ lines on the Better Value plan. Existing T-Mobile subscribers can get the device free if they add a new line on current or legacy plans.
Customers will then receive 24 monthly bill credits as long as the account remains in good standing.
