We are just three weeks away from the announcement of the Galaxy S26 series. Over the past few months, nearly all the hardware features of the upcoming phones have been revealed. A new report now claims that Samsung’s next flagship lineup will deliver drastic improvements in AI performance.
Samsung has reportedly partnered with a South Korean firm called Nota AI to co-develop a system known as EdgeFusion. The technology is said to generate images using generative AI in just one second. If accurate, this would represent a significant improvement over the Galaxy S25 series.
The report adds that EdgeFusion is based on a modified version of Stable Diffusion, a widely used open-source image generation model. EdgeFusion is expected to debut with the Galaxy S26 series later this month.
EdgeFusion has reportedly been optimized for the Exynos 2600 chip, which is expected to power the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ in most global markets. Since Stable Diffusion is relatively large and can be slow on mobile chipsets, Samsung and Nota AI are said to have reduced its size to improve performance.
The report also claims that image generation on the Exynos 2600 is faster than on rival Snapdragon chips. However, real-world performance will only be clear after the Galaxy S26 series launches, and we will put this feature to the test in our full review.
