Samsung announced its Q4 2025 earnings today and as expected, the company posted a record profit on the back of the semiconductor division's excellent performance.

The mobile division performed very well, posting double-digit annual profit for 2025 through sustained growth in flagship sales. The company has now provided a glimpse of what it intends to do in 2026 to dominate the market.

It's all about AI in 2026

It's no secret that Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S26 series in the near future. Reports suggest that the Unpacked event for the device will take place in San Francisco next month.

It confirmed the Galaxy S26's existence in the earnings release today. Samsung says that the mobile division will expand its AI smartphone leadership “by delivering Agentic AI experiences with the launch of the Galaxy S26 series.” This is as clear a hint as any that the Galaxy S26 lineup will focus heavily on AI experiences.

It further mentions that the mobile division will utilize next-generation AI experiences to push sales of other lineups as well. It will also focus on “slimmer and lighter form factors,” without specifying further.

It's already believed to have put the Galaxy S26 Edge in cold storage. Perhaps if the iPhone Air 2 comes out Samsung may feel inclined to bring it back. It's also possible that we may see significant reductions in both weight and thickness for other foldables like we saw for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in 2025.
