Almost every new device in Samsung’s Galaxy S Ultra series has featured a new protection/glass for the display that offered higher strength and more resistance against scratches and reflections, among other upgrades.
Well, according to a new leak, the South Korean tech giant's next non-foldable flagship phone, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, will be no different. In fact, its display protection may completely eliminate the need for a screen protector.
On X, a popular tipster, Ice Universe, says that Samsung will equip the Galaxy S26 Ultra with a new generation of Gorilla Glass, which will solve problems that require a screen protector.
According to the them, the anti-reflective coating will eliminate the need for anti-reflective (matte) screen protectors, the CoE non-polarised light technology will eliminate the need for “ultra clear high transparency films“, the new generation Gorilla Glass’ “ultra high strength” will eliminate the need for tempered glass screen protectors, and the new screen privacy feature will eliminate the need for privacy films.
Since you may not have to buy a screen protector, you can save the money you would have spent on getting one. With no screen protector, the device will also be slimmer and lighter. In some scenarios, the cases and screen protectors are not compatible with each other. With the Galaxy S26 Ultra, you may not face that issue either. As each day passes by, Samsung's upcoming flagship phone is shaping up to be a big upgrade.
