Single Take and Dual Rec modes to return as part of the Camera Assistant app.

Good news for anyone who refrained from installing the One UI 8.5 beta on their Galaxy S25, S25+, or S25 Ultra because it was missing the Dual Rec and Single Take camera modes: a Samsung employee has confirmed the two modes are making a return soon.
According to a moderator on Samsung's community forums, Dual Rec and Single Take will return to the Galaxy S25 series with the second beta update. However, it seems they will not be available in the camera app's Modes selection screen, but as part of the Camera Assistant app.
The Camera Assistant app will receive an update once the second beta is released, and in addition to those two camera modes, it will add functionality such as “Custom options for professional shooting.”
The wording is a little unclear, but the Samsung moderator is likely referring to the ability to save various Pro mode shooting parameters as custom presets that was rumored earlier. It's also possible this will be available directly in Pro mode, not Camera Assistant.
It remains to be seen why Samsung is moving Dual Rec and Single Take out of the main camera app and placing them inside Camera Assistant. Camera Assistant is an optional app meant to give users more control over certain camera features, and hiding such useful modes behind an optional download will likely make many users think those modes no longer exist on their phones.
Perhaps Samsung has decided to make Camera Assistant a pre-installed app that’s available out of the box starting with One UI 8.5. Even if that’s the case, we see no reason why these modes couldn’t have been left in their original location.
Hopefully, this is a change Samsung will roll back by the time the stable One UI 8.5 update is ready.
