Samsung Free was a content aggregator service that the company launched way back with One UI 3.0. It has remained available on the company's devices since then, but not anymore.

Samsung has confirmed that it's discontinuing Samsung Free from December 16, 2025. The service will no longer be available after that.

You can get news from the Samsung News app

Samsung Free provided access to live TV, news articles, podcasts, and interactive games in one app. All of the content was available free for users. You could access this content aggregator by swiping left on the home screen. Samsung Free had replaced the Samsung Daily feed that previously existed on Galaxy devices.

No significant refreshes for Samsung Free had been made in the longest time, which was already a big sign that it was on its way out. The company later launched a separate Samsung News app back in 2023 which has since replaced Samsung Free in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

According to the notification the company has sent out, Samsung Free will no longer be accessible starting December 16. Those who would like to access the interactive games that were available through the service can do so through the Gaming Hub. The Read tab will no longer be available.

Samsung News remains the only option for users who want to access premium content from leading publications on their device. However, availability of the service may vary by market.
